IT is Empowerment Project
I T is empowerment report front cover

3 year project funded through the Big Lottery Fund - developed from another earlier highly successful Lottery Funded initiative.

 

Aimed at supporting local community groups in bridging the ‘digital divide’ - by passing on peer-to-peer skills and knowledge.

Project worked through combination of:

  • Informal training
  • Coaching and mentoring
  • Signposting.
  • Access to resources

The project worked extremely well. In no small part because we committed to freely cascading down hard won knowledge and experience to local groups. Helping up-skill & support local groups in the process.

Demand for project services & support far exceeded expectations. Due in no small part to support being provided in a non-technical and informal setting - encouraging engagement and interaction.

Lasting outcomes include the establishment of new and vibrant relationships and dialogues with a wide range of local groups. With a resulting strengthening and widening of our membership base.

Ending in March 2009, this project met or exceeded all set targets.
