SCIPS has a long and proven record in Project Management and in overseeing internally and externally commissioned initiatives. Here are just a few examples of the projects we have led on over the past few years.
Greets Green Home Maintenance Project - Initially a three year grant arrangement through Greets Green New Deal for Communities the project aimed to deliver a practical long term solution to disrepair in local private sector housing. This project being a model of partnership working was led by SCIPS in conjunction with Greets Green Partnership and Sandwell MBC and tackled disrepair through training, a tool loan scheme along with extended support and advice.
Initially funded for 3 years, the project proved so popular amongst local residents and take up on services was so high that project funding was extended for a further 3 years - finally expiring in December 2007.

SCIPS IT is Empowerment Project - A 3 year project funded through the Big Lottery Fund and running until the end of March 2009. Project was developed from an earlier highly successful Lottery Funded project and has been aimed at supporting local community groups in bridging the ‘digital divide’ skills and knowledge gap. Project has worked through offering training, coaching and mentoring, signposting and providing access to resources.
Through this project we have cascaded on our own knowledge and experience and through it have up-skilled many local community groups. Demand for project services and support has far exceeded our expectations and through this ground breaking project we have established lasting relationships with a wide variety of new groups.
Greets Green Home Protection Scheme - Initially a project initiated at the request of Greets Green Partnership, SCIPS were approached to take on the management of a maintenance and servicing programme designed to extend the working life expectancy of equipment fitted to private dwellings through an earlier programme. SCIPS worked closely with Greets Green Partnership, a firm of local contractors and local residents to ensure burglar alarms fitted under this previous programme remained in useful working condition. So successful was this servicing programme that it was further extended to include the fitment of a further new batch of alarms into private dwellings within Greets Green.
As a result of SCIPS prudent financial management of this programme we were also able to offer to residents who had such alarms an extended free maintenance arrangement that went further than originally envisaged by the programmes funders.
