To recognise the vital role music plays in uniting communities and improving wellbeing, Music for All has opened a new round of Community Project Funding for projects and initiatives across the UK and Ireland seeking to bring music to their community.
The funding is aimed at community groups and schools that need assistance to fulfil their potential in developing sustainable music programmes.
The round will award musical instruments or grants of up to £1,500 for seven different types of projects:
• Electric/acoustic guitars,
• Ukuleles,
• Projects supporting those suffering with mental health issues and feelings of loneliness,
• Projects support those with other diseases and conditions affecting quality of life,
• Projects to support those experiencing financial hardship,
• SoundSquares courses. This is an 8-week online Jazz and Blues course for community music groups (with members 18+) who want to learn the principles of the Blues form and how to improvise with it,
• And ODD balls. ODD balls are a new form of musical instrument, allowing users to create sounds of any instrument they want by bouncing the ball.
