National Lottery Community Fund £2 Million Fund Opens in Response to the Cost-of-Living Crisis Facing Women (England) – Deadline: 21st June 2024
The National Lottery Community Fund has provided
£2.2 million in funding for round two of the Women’s Urgent Support Fund. The fund aims to tackle the effect of the cost-of-living crisis on women. Administered by the Smallwood Trust, the Fund will award three-year grants of between £15,000 and £60,000 to enable around 35 women’s-led community organisations to respond to the increase in demand for urgent and basic needs for women in England who are most at risk of poverty due to the crisis.
The funding can be used to pay for:
• Emergency support and to meet the priority basic needs of women in the community through, for example, normal charitable support, including welfare packs, food or clothing,
• Dedicated organisational capacity development,
• Staff salaries,
• Project activities,
• Running costs,
• Equipment,
• Organisational development,
• Contributions to fixed costs.
Priority will be given to organisations and/or services supporting the following groups:
• Women experiencing racial inequality,
• Disabled women,
• Women with no recourse to public funds,
• Women who are the sole parent to children under 18 years,
• LGBTQ+ communities experiencing financial insecurity. At least 50% of grants will be awarded to projects that support women experiencing racial inequality and/or disabled women. Organisations must have an annual income of less than £1 million to be eligible. Expressions of interest should be submitted by 5pm on 21st June 2024.
