Hamstead Village TRA - Come on All You Volunteers!
If you live in Hamstead, we are looking for some enthusiastic, energetic, young-at-heart and community minded volunteers to come and join the rest of our Committee at Hamstead Village Tenants & Residents Group.
We’re a friendly lot and we meet once a month on a Wednesday at 6.00pm in the community room on the ground floor in Hamstead House to discuss any issues that affect our local community such as fly tipping, traffic calming, anti-social behaviour, rising criminal activities (drugs, violence, car theft etc.) or let us know what you would like to raise or discuss. We have regular guests attending such as the Local Housing Officer, Local Community Police and/or our Local Councillor with whom any or all of these issues can be raised and discussed. There will always be a warm welcome, a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits! On a lighter side, we will be hosting various community events throughout the year eg: on 9th August is our Summer Fete and Table Top Sale on the green space in front of Hamstead House, which this year has a Sports theme, with sporting games, Face Painting, Hair Braiding as well as other activities and on 31 October in the community room we are hosting a Halloween Disco for the children with dancing, fun games and spooky goings-on! Also, volunteers permitting, we may also be hosting a Christmas event (date yet to be agreed) where the children can meet Father Christmas and receive a gift (at a small cost). We also hold weekly Bingo sessions at 12.00 on Tuesdays in the community room in Hamstead House. Everyone is welcome. All of these events are free to attend and are open to the whole community. If you are interested in being involed in any of these activities or joining or committee, please contact Sue at This email address is being protected from spambots.
