Shakespeare returns to Sandwell’s Lightwoods House
From Tuesday 13 June to Sunday 18 June come along to Lightwoods House for
live performances of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night’s Dream performed by students from Birmingham Conservatoire and set in the beautiful Shakespeare Garden. On Midsummer’s eve, four rebellious young lovers, a band of ambitious artisan players, and a feuding Fairy King and Queen all cross paths one magical night in the forest.
When the shapeshifting, mischief-making Puck, the Fairy King’s servant, is ordered to cast spells on everyone, what could possibly go wrong? Performed by students from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire as part of Birmingham City University’s Inspired Festival, this will be a show not to be missed.
Councillor Charn Singh Padda, Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for leisure and tourism, said: “It promises to be a magical performance so come down and enjoy an evening or afternoon and see upcoming actors bring Shakespeare to life among the beautiful grounds and settings of Lightwoods House.”
