Temporary Changes While The SVI Office Is Closed

Due to building works in the Town Hall,

SVI staff will be working from home for 4 weeks from Thursday 20 June 2024. The SVI office will be closed to visitors. You will still be able to leave a message for any of us during normal working hours. Our off-site activities will not be affected: the trip to Winterbourne House, the narrow boat trip, gym, swimming, line dancing and Dartmouth Park walks. Steve Nutt, our Digital Empowerment guru, can make home visits if needed – just let us know if you need this. However, there will be a change of venue for our next Tea and Toast and Talk and Support sessions which will both be held on the same day – Wednesday 3 July 2024.

The format will be: 10.30am – 12 noon: Tea and Toast (refreshments and a good old natter!) 1pm – 3pm: Talk and Support (a chance to chat, offer support to others and share hints and tips for a healthier, happier life). The sessions will be held in the Akrill Memorial Hall at the rear of Wesley Church, 291 High Street, West Bromwich B70 8ND just down the road from the SVI office on the opposite side of the street. The church is located next door to (and to the right of) Lloyds Bank and is set back from the road.

The entrance to the Hall at the rear is by crossing a small car park (with a barrier) to the left of the church and following the building round to the back. There is ramped access to the Hall and a disabled WC available. We have the use of a spacious hall and kitchen for refreshments. If you want to attend both, please do – the more the merrier! Just bring some lunch and we will provide the hot drinks. Book your place on Talk and Support Give the SVI office a call to book a place on the Talk and Support session so they know who to expect.
