Mental and Emotional Wellbeing Black Country

NHS are pleased to announce the launch of a 24-7 support line for adults, older adults, and children and young people requiring urgent mental health support during the Covid-19 pandemic. Call them on 0345 6450 827 and Press 1 for Sandwell or Wolverhampton or Press 2 for Dudley and Walsall.

Sandwell Healthy Minds service for people experiencing common mental helath concerns such as low mood, depression, anxiety and stress. This services can be accessed at www.sandwellhealthyminds.nhs.uk or by calling 0303 0339 903.

Zebra Access a deaf-led service are offering a remote befriending scheme, via FaceTime, WhatsApp, Zoom or Skype to provide people with some company and ensure their social needs are being met. Kooth are offering free friendly online chats with counsellors, articles for you to read written by their young people or why not join their peer to peer forum. Jigsaw Events Activity Packs

Jigsaw Events is the sister organisation to Building Bridges Training, which provides community based social opportunities for people with a learning disability living in Sandwell.

During the current closedown Jigsaw have been keeping in touch with members via phone and WhatsApp groups, but they have also been posting out a weekly activity pack containing about 10 to 12 items including: Puzzles Quizzes Word searches Fun activities Dot to dot Adult colouring.

The activities are available as free downloads on the website’s home page, just scroll down to the new purple banner. The activities can also be posted out to people on a weekly basis.

These activities have been made to be printed and posted to Jigsaw’s members, people with a learning disability who live independently in Sandwell.

Some questions relate to the organisation – Jigsaw Events – or the local area so you might need to change for alternative questions in the quizzes.

Members have requested many of the word search topics, Peter Andre, Owls and Aston Villa ones! If you see any typos etc., or if there are no answer sheets available and you need one, contact Jigsaw.
