Supporting Sandwell Tenants and Residents Associations
In January 2016 Sandwell council commissioned SCIPS to deliver direct services to Tenants and Residents Groups across Sandwell.
It included the administration of Sandwell MBC's Tenant and Resident Association (TRA) grants which are available for starting up a new TRA, to cover annual running costs and for one-off capital costs such as buying a printer.
In order to access these grants, a TRA must be registered with Sandwell MBC and use their sample constitution. SCIPS can you help you to do this.
SCIPS also provide advice and guidance on all aspects of setting up, registering and running a TRA within council guidelines. We can support you with everything from canvassing your area for resident interest to holding an Annual General Meeting and electing a committee - we will be with you all the way.
TRA's can become members of SCIPS in their own right. With preferential voting rights, each TRA has 2 votes on all decisions made.
If your TRA becomes a member of SCIPS the voting delegates will also have access to policy document templates to help run your group and our TRA Essentials factsheets on subjects such as Chairperson basics, Safeguarding basics etc. SCIPS can also support your TRA in managing any difficult situations that you may come across as your group works to improve your neighbourhood.
If you would like to speak to us about setting up new TRA in your area please call us on 0121 544 1230.
