About SCIPS

SCIPS

SCIPS is a community led charitable organisation guided by the principles of empowerment, democracy and inclusion.

These principles form the fundamental ethos of our company, and are enshrined in our Mission Statement and expanded upon in our Core Values.

SCIPS has been supporting Sandwell residents for over 30 years. It evolved from a housing pressure group to become Sandwell Tenants and Residents Federation before registering as a limited company in 1995.  It become the registered charity it is  today in 2002, complete with name change.

Throughout all these changes SCIPS has been led and directed by Sandwell's tenants and residents.

Partnerships

Although we are an independent organisation we work in close partnership with housing, regeneration and voluntary organisations to ensure that communities are consulted on issues that are important to them. We, in turn, can influence policy development and decision making.

As an inclusive organisation we have, for many years, been committed to involving under-represented communities. We have developed and delivered projects aimed at increasing involvement from all local communities, enhancing community cohesion and enriching the knowledge, understanding and skill base of both our membership and the organisation as a whole.

SCIPS prides itself on having a flexible approach. We can tailor our services to meet the needs and aspirations of Sandwell’s varied communities and ever-changing environment.
